Yesterday we switched it up a bit in HSM with the segment...3 minutes with DD (Dave D'Angelo). We had students text message their questions in and Dave answered them on the spot...it was really good!
Some of the questions included,
"Can you explain the trinity and how it affects my every day life?"
"I have a friend who told me she has an eating disorder, but she made me promise not to tell. Should I tell an adult?"
"Are tattoos a sin?"
"How do I share my faith with unsaved friends?"
"How can I help a friend who is really struggling with their faith?"
The questions were really good - and Dave did a great job giving answers right then and there. It's scary to do a Q and A like this, but it keeps everything really fresh!
This week talk to your kids about the questions they have and remind them that questions are okay! It's okay not to know something and ask for help.
Many times in our lives we don't know where to go, or who to turn to when we have faith questions. Here at NewPointe we are all about helping students answer pressing questions about their life or faith. We have an amazing set of small group leaders who are committed and willing to help students answer pressing questions in their lives.
If you sign up for small groups you'll get connected with an adult and a group of students who want to grow with you. You'll be able to pick friends to be in your groups, so it's not too awkward. The groups will only be asked to meet 2 times a month, but if you want to meet more that's awesome!
If you have any questions about small groups and how you can get connected please email me at hsm@newpointe.org .
