I've messed up, now what?

Man, if you weren't in HSM yesterday you missed a powerful service. In fact, I won't even go into details...

Just wanted to say that a small group leader got up and gave her testimony about the mistakes she's made when it comes to sex. She talked about how she knows she is forgiven, but the mistakes she made still haunt her and her current relationship. It was really powerful.

No means...No!

We are in full swing working through the series, "The Power of Sex." Yesterday we had guest communicator, Celeste Honigford come and talk about having good boundaries in dating.

I think we have the wrong view of God when it comes to sex - I really do. I think most of the time we view God as saying No to all things sexual. Sometimes we can open up the Bible and hear God saying no to many things we might want...

In reality, God says yes. You see, God created sex and he wants us to enjoy it! Funny, huh? God...wanting us to have and enjoy sex. Never thought about that, huh? But, it's true. God wants us to have the best sex lives ever! God tells us that if we follow what he says in his word we can have a sex life that is free from pain and guilt.

If we don't follow God's design of sex...one man, one woman, in marriage...we will end up hurt, hopeless, and abandoned.

This week talk to your teens about the boundaries they are setting up in their relationships. If that's uncomfortable, or you don't know where to start...point them to their small group leaders - that's why they're here!

guys vs. girls

The difference between guys and girls can be drastic sometimes...take a look at this...

There are so many things that are different about us, but really - at the end of the day - we all want similar things. We all want to be accepted, significant, and have security in our lives. Many times people look to someone to fill these needs instead of looking to God. If we keep expecting other people to help make us feel secure, significant, and accepted we will eventually push them away. People will view us a needy and insecure. Really what we need to do is find our identity in Jesus.

Easier said than done, right? Well, try this for just one week. Whenever you feel like things are going out of control just stop and pray. Be honest with God about your fears and just talk to Him about it. This might not make you feel better right now, but in time you'll learn to depend on Him.
