HSM Small Groups!

Hey everyone! We are starting something new in HSM - small groups! We haven't really had them organized, so we are starting them in the beginning of May! The deadline for you to sign up is April 19th. If you haven't heard the news, or haven't received a card in the mail please call me at 330-365-2062 or email hsm@newpointe.org!

Hitting the Mark

We all want to grow and get our lives on a good track, right? Most of us do, but many times we don't know how to go about it. We want to make good choices and really hit the center of the bullseye, but often we get discouraged.

Yesterday, Dave was telling us about the steps that he's taken in his life - and how important community was in building him up. Community is such an important part of our growth as followers of Christ, but often we don't know where to start. We want close relationships with other people, but we don't know how to reach that goal. Instead, we try on our own, get frustrated, and fall into a cyclical pattern of success and failure.

At NewPointe we believe the best way for someone to grow in their relationship with Christ is through small groups. In HSM we know that friends are an important part of your growth, but we also believe that having an adult in your life who isn't one of your parents is important as well. So, we are launching small groups in the month of May. We are going to be putting students into a small group of their peers and hooking them up with an adult. We believe this is the best way to build up a students' relationship with Jesus.

Taking a break...

Hey - we are taking a break from our usual Monday post to talk about two exciting things that are happening in HSM this week! I'm pumped for it - so I wanted to share.


First, we are having our second-annual overnight event - The Gauntlet II. We will have a ton of games planned and some big prizes to give away. Should be fun! Here's the info...














Second, we are going to be launching small groups in HSM. We are going to be meeting on the first Sunday of each month at night and assigning students into closed groups. I'm really excited about this! You'll get more information from us here at NewPointe and in the mail. If you have any questions about small groups, or getting your 9th-12th grade student plugged into a group just email me at hsm@newpointe.org

Have you ever looked at something and thought, "This is impossible!" I know I have.

Many times in our lives we look at certain goals in our lives and wonder if we're ever going to make it. It seriously seems impossible at times to complete the goals we have - whether they are in sports, spiritual, or education. But, we have to remember that it comes one step at a time.

It's hard completing your goals alone, but when you are surrounded by people who love and care about you it becomes much easier - that's why we value small groups. At NewPointe we believe that the best way you can grow in your relationship with God is to be learning His Word with a group of others who can give their perspective.
